"Visiting Mother of the Universe" by Mattias Nilsson

Mount Everest is the highest above-land mountain of the world and it too is not unaffected by the climate change. Earlier this year (2015) two earthquakes hit Nepal within weeks of each other which triggered several avalanches causing death and destruction. Our intrepid bear was there on one of these occassions and fortunatly its host found himself in the small village of Manang where the occurance had a minimal impact.
Rising temperatures are causing more avalanches, landslides and flooding which besides leading to environmental disasters pose a danger to the increasing numbers of climbers and sherpas.

"Third pole" by Mattias Nilsson

In addition to the North Pole and the South Pole, the massive glacial ice sheets in the Himalayas has some scientist calling it the Third Pole. Should more than 45,000 glaciers melt in the coming decade at its current rate the dwindling water supplies will cause nearly 2 billion people in Asia to suffer water shortages and drought.
